Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
nurage ("nurage", "we", "us") is a calm, local-first writing studio for authors, available on the web and on mobile. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices you have.
1. Who we are
nurage is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@nurage.app.
2. Data we collect
Account information
When you create an account we process your email address and, depending on how you sign in, your name and profile photo. You can sign in with an email and password, with Google, or with Apple. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive only the relay address Apple provides.
Your content
The books, pages, text, and images you create are your content. On the Free plan your content stays on your device. If you have a Pro subscription with cloud sync enabled, your content is stored on our servers so it can sync across your devices.
AI features
When you use an AI writing feature, the text you submit (and relevant context from your book) is sent to our AI providers to generate a response. We also keep a count of your AI-credit usage.
Purchases and subscriptions
Payments are processed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We store your plan (Free or Pro), renewal date, and a transaction/subscription identifier so we can grant the right features.
Diagnostics
To keep the app stable we collect crash reports and error diagnostics (for example, device model, operating-system version, and technical error details) through Sentry.
Guest mode (mobile)
On mobile you can write as a guest without an account. In guest mode your books stay on your device and are not sent to us until you create an account and choose to sync.
3. How we use your data
- To provide the studio, store and sync your books, and run AI features you request.
- To process purchases, manage subscriptions, and grant plan features.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
- To comply with legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting records).
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the service and your subscription); your consent (for optional features); our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the service); and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Service providers we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers we rely on to run nurage:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google, Apple | Sign-in (OAuth) and, on mobile, in-app purchases |
| Stripe | Web subscription payments |
| RevenueCat | Managing mobile in-app subscriptions |
| Anthropic, Moonshot AI | Generating AI writing responses |
| Sentry | Crash and error diagnostics |
| Our hosting provider | Running our servers and databases |
Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms. Our AI providers process your prompts to return a response; we do not use your content to train our own models.
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.
7. Data retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we delete your personal data and cloud-stored content, except where we must keep certain records to comply with the law (for example, billing and tax records may be retained for up to 10 years under applicable Turkish law).
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the Turkish KVKK, and the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email privacy@nurage.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and associated data at any time. See nurage.app/account for how to do this and what is removed.
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access tokens with short lifetimes. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
11. Children
nurage is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
